The requirement
For the Zhangjiakou Chongli competition zone of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, the venue team needed a large-scale temporary protective fencing system for pedestrian routes, road edges, landscaped areas, service passages and controlled-access zones.
The main challenge was the deadline. More than 12 km of fencing had to be confirmed, produced, finished and delivered within a tight 22-day venue preparation window, without affecting access control planning, pedestrian routing or final venue readiness.
What we supplied
We supplied approximately 12,000 m of protective fencing, including around 4,800 modular fence panels, reinforced base plates, angled support braces and custom Beijing 2022 visual boards.
Each fence section used a 2.5 m modular panel format, allowing the installation team to build long fence runs quickly, replace individual sections easily and adjust layouts without welding or heavy equipment.
How it went
Within 48 hours, the fence structure, base support method, color finish and Beijing 2022 visual board layout were confirmed with the project team. Production was then arranged in batches, with peak daily output reaching 500 fence panels.
The fences were finished in a silver-blue color scheme and fitted with custom Beijing 2022 branded boards, so the temporary fencing became part of the Olympic venue presentation instead of looking like construction-site separation.
Result
The complete fencing package was delivered within 22 days, and the main venue protection areas were installed in about 10 days.
The Chongli competition zone gained safer pedestrian routes, clearer restricted areas and a cleaner event environment. The project also demonstrated DINGJIANG's ability to deliver 10,000+ meters of customized fencing for a time-sensitive, high-visibility venue project.
