Specify the finish as a system
“Coated fence” is not a complete specification. The substrate, pretreatment, application process and finish requirements all matter. Dingjiang product families offer different galvanised, PVC-coated and powder-coated options; confirm availability for the selected product rather than assuming every finish is offered on every item.
Galvanised steel
Zinc provides corrosion protection to steel. Ask whether the material is galvanised before fabrication or the completed assembly is hot-dip galvanised. Welding, cut edges, drainage holes and repair procedures need to be considered in the agreed manufacturing route. State any required standard, coating mass or thickness and inspection method in the order.
PVC-coated mesh
PVC coating is used on products such as chain link and Euro fence. Ask for both the steel core diameter and the finished coated diameter. Comparing only the outside diameter can hide a difference in the amount of steel. Confirm colour, coverage at ends and the handling method for rolls.
Powder-coated fencing
Powder coating gives a coloured finish to suitable steel fence components. Ask what substrate protection and pretreatment are included. A RAL colour reference helps define appearance, but gloss, texture and an approved sample may also be needed. Specify any required UV or adhesion testing instead of inferring performance from colour alone.
Match the finish to the site
Describe coastal exposure, industrial contamination, irrigation, abrasion and expected maintenance access. Service life cannot be predicted from the finish name alone. For a meaningful comparison, request the same material, dimensions, coating requirements and inspection scope from each supplier.
Before accepting delivery
Check finish continuity, visible damage and packing protection against the approved requirements. Discuss repair materials and handling instructions before installation. Send your finish requirements to Dingjiang with the product type and destination.
